Cookie Policy

Which cookies and browser storage C-Drama Compass uses, what each one is for, and how to change your consent choices for analytics and advertising.
Last updated

This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage used on C-Drama Compass, and how you can control them. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our privacy policy.

Essential storage

These are needed for the site to work the way you expect, and they don't track you across other sites.

  • Country setting. When you arrive, our hosting provider sets a cookie with your approximate country so we can show the streaming services available where you are. You can override it with the country picker.
  • Your preferences. Your chosen country, the streaming services you use, your spoiler setting, and the episode you're up to are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
  • Voting device ID. If you vote on a drama, a random ID is stored in local storage so we can count one vote per device. It isn't linked to your name or email.
  • Consent record. Your cookie choices are stored so we don't ask again on every page.
  • Security. Our spam protection on forms, Cloudflare Turnstile, may use storage to tell people from bots.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful, such as which guides are read and which spoiler sections are opened. Where consent is required, these cookies are only set after you agree.

Advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. With your consent, Google may use cookies to show ads based on your interests and to measure ad performance. Without consent, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalized using cookies. Ads never appear inside spoiler sections, Where to Watch panels, or viewer votes.

Both Google Analytics and AdSense run with Google Consent Mode. In regions where consent is required, including the UK, the EEA, and Switzerland, a consent banner asks for your choice before any analytics or advertising cookies are set. If you decline, Google receives only limited signals without cookies, such as the fact that a page was viewed.

Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the privacy settings link in the site footer. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings, though this will reset your site preferences.

Third parties

Google's use of data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
