Chinese dramas on Netflix

Netflix is the streaming service many English-speaking viewers already pay for, and it carries a rotating selection of licensed Chinese dramas. It doesn't run a dedicated C-drama service. Some series arrive after they finish airing in China, while others, such as Where the Mask Ends, add new episodes while the show is still airing there.

Netflix bills monthly. There is no free tier and no per-episode unlocking. In the US there are three plans: Standard with ads, Standard, and Premium. Netflix's help center says the ad plan includes most shows and movies, not all of them, and shows a lock icon on the ones it leaves out. A drama with a lock on that plan needs one of the ad-free plans.

Subtitles on Netflix are official. English is listed on every Chinese drama we track there where we could open the title page, and some titles add other languages. Some title pages didn't load for us, so a few of our Netflix listings show subtitles as unknown.

Catalogs differ by country, and titles leave when licenses end. A drama streaming on Netflix in the US may not be in Australia. We record the date we last checked each country, and a listing we haven't checked from a country is marked as not confirmed.
