Who's who
- Shang Zhitao (Sun Qian): known at work as Flora, a beipiao from Harbin with a gift for data and an endless capacity for hard work. She is kind, stubborn and proud, and she keeps her relationship secret because she wants to earn everything herself.
- Luan Nian (Jing Boran): known as Luke, Lingmei's star creative director. He has a distant father and a startup that was sold out from under him, and he deals with both by being rude to everyone. He loves Shang long before he can say so.
- Sun Yu (Qi Tianqing): Shang's brash, funny roommate from Guizhou, who sells memberships for a matchmaking site and later runs her own company. She loves Sun Yuanzhu.
- Sun Yuanzhu (Liu Xiaobei): the third roommate, a quiet, generous engineer carrying his family's debts and an abusive father. He loves Shang without ever telling her.
- Lu Mi (Zhang Yezi): Shang's mentor, blunt and generous, whose romance with Tu Ming is the drama's lighter second couple.
- Zang Yao (Guo Xiaoting): Luan Nian's childhood friend, who has loved him for a decade and comes back into his life in episode 11.
Identity Reveals
Ending spoilerShow identity reveals
There are no hidden identities in the usual sense, but there are two secrets. Chen Dong, who arrives as Lingmei's new general manager in episode 15, turns out to be the partner who sold Luan Nian's startup years earlier. The bigger one comes in episode 20: after Sun Yuanzhu's death, his diary shows he loved Shang all along and sent the flowers she had wondered about since episode 11.
