Identity Reveals
Ending spoilerShow identity reveals
- In the Star Stone illusion (episodes 10–16), Wu Shiguang and Wu Wangyan live out the lives of his adoptive parents, Cang Hao and Qingyi, marrying and growing old together, while Lu Wuyi and Ji Ling live as Dizhu and Manman.
- The Dragon Deity the group has been chasing is really Ji Ling, a blind fox from Nanshan whom the real Chiwen saved and installed as a stand-in. The travelling priest is a wooden puppet Ji Ling built.
- Wu Shiguang is the tenth dragon, born from the nine dragon sons' reverse scales, and Chiwen's younger brother.
- Li Jie and Yuan Wuhuo are the good and evil halves of a twin six-eyed butterfly demon that devoured the sect master, Ji Ling's old friend.
- In episodes 24–25 Lu Wuyi travels back in time and finds she was the fox doll that kept the young Ji Ling alive.
- The Fox King is Jiuying, a nine-headed demon, who wiped out the jiao clan in Wu Wangyan's likeness and controls the foxes through an oracle stone.
- Lu Wuyi isn't a natural fox. Jiuying made her from other foxes' flesh and blood, including one of Wu Wangyan's hearts, which gives her the power to turn back time.
